Poor Lass x Sick Festival, 2026
I’ve always been a planner. I’ve always took part in new years resolutions, written quarterly plans and check-in with myself through journaling.
Since I became a coach, I’ve realised just how powerful this has been for me and now I’m even more intentional with it.
Over a decade ago, I became part of a creative duo called Poor Lass. We made zines, ran workshops, had a successful podcast for a number of years, hosted events and got to do some amazing things I feel very proud of.
As my professional career took the driving seat for a few years, some of my passions fell by the wayside. I realised, being creative, is something I really need in my life and I have to make time for it to feel, like me, outside of my corporate life.
In coaching, we often start our relationship with our clients by completing an exercise called Be, Do Have. It focuses on what we want to be, do and have in the next few years. This is a great way to get to know eachother and to allow clients to dig into who they are, right now.
Life can be a fast moving train, full of distractions, routines, an ever changing list of priorities and very little time to sit and think what we really want to be spending our time doing.
A lot of really surprising things can come up in that initial session as we give ourselves an hour to just be, us. To dig into where we’re at right now and connect to our true selves, under all the noise and obligations.
For me, I realised I was really missing the joy I got from being creative and was keen to ensure I made time to create again. The extra bonus for me is that Poor Lass often opens up doors to work with communities, which adds another layer - to have a positive impact on society.
We had worked with the incredible SICK Productions in Manchester previously but this year, we were asked to work directly with a group of young ambassadors on a project called Sick Notes. This project aims to bring attention to the inequalities prevalent for women and girls when it comes to health.

Making the time for this important work has been an absolute joy and has already given me so much to focus on creatively, as well as connecting with people on important cultural topics.

We have a full programme of events coming up with Sick Productions through the year, including a live, in person, podcast recording, which is also incredibly exciting. I’m also working on a docu series where I’m interviewing the ambassadors and health experts for Sick Notes. This is quite a full circle moment for me as I get to dust off my film production degree too!
If you’re keen to spend some time thinking about what’s next for you in your life, let’s have a chat.
Life coaching can help you unlock what you truly value, where you’re at right now in your life. Some things change, others stay the same and underneath it all, you’re always the same you.
If you’re feeling stuck and wanting to reconnect with yourself, the initial session is the key to unlocking those next steps through the be, do, have lens.
I currently offer FREE 30 min sessions for us to get to know eachother and see what coaching may be able to do for you.
